Damgaard Company was founded by Preben Damgaard, a pioneer in tech ever since the birth of the industry.

At age 20, Preben co-founded Damgaard Data in 1983 with his older brother Erik. The two grew the company to become a leader in the market for ERP software to small and medium sized enterprises and brought Damgaard Data to a successful IPO on NASDAQ OMX in 1999.

In 2000, they merged with Navision Software, and less than two years later, in 2002, Navision was acquired by Microsoft for $1.45B – the biggest acquisition made by Microsoft at the time. Preben was appointed Executive Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions in EMEA and stayed there until founding Damgaard Company in 2003.

Preben was a combined VC and seed investor focusing primarily on B2B SaaS companies with disruptive technologies and B2C platform companies with innovative business models. As an investor, advisor and board member he always engaged with entrepreneurs and management teams in the portfolio companies, helping each company unlock its full potential.

With a long career as an entrepreneur and CEO, Preben gained deep and extensive practical experience that he leverages in his venture as VC investor, business angel and professional board member. Preben continued to expand and develop his expertise, making him an invaluable business partner for the winners of tomorrow until his all too early death in 2022.

Today, Charlotte Damgaard, Chairwoman of Damgaard Company and widow after Preben is actively involved in the daily operation working together with Group CEO Lars Romedahl.

Charlotte Damgaard has been Chair of Damgaard Company since 2008 and been an extensive part of the Damgaard Company history and success.
