Damgaard is - and has been - primarily involved in investments in unlisted companies. In specific cases, the company has also invested in companies listed on NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen.

    • Expansion of the investment portfolio with investments in, among others, Saxo Bank and IT security company Secunia have continuously been in progress since 2003.

  • 2003:
    • Preben Damgaard stops at Microsoft and focuses on further developing Damgaard Company A/S (Børsen juni 2003​ - Danish).

  • 2002: 
    • Microsoft Corporation acquires Navision for $1.6 billion - close to 11 billion DKK.
      At the time it was the largest acquisition ever made by Microsoft Corporation.
      Preben Damgaard is appointed as responsible for Microsoft Business Solutions’ activities in EMEA.

  • 2000: 
    • Damgaard A/S merges with Navision Software A/S. Under the name Navision A/S, it is the largest global supplier of Financial Management and management systems for small and medium-sized enterprises.

  • 1999:
    • Damgaard A/S is introduced on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange (NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen). The company’s shares are oversubscribed 16 times.

  • 1985: 
    • Damgaard Company A/S is founded.
    • 1983: 
      • Preben Damgaard and Erik Damgaard establish the IT company Damgaard Data A/S​.
